Why You Should Have an Emergency Kit
If you are reading this, you might be in two minds if you need an emergency kit.
I’m going to lay out why I think you should have an emergency kit.

Emergency Kits are for Everyone
No matter where you are located, no matter your financial situation and no matter your living circumstances, everyone can and should have an emergency kit.
When you build your own emergency kit yourself, you can start small and build upon it.
You will be able to have something that works within any confines you may have.
The reason to have an emergency kit:
To be prepared.
I think it all boils down to that one simple statement. To be prepared.
Benefits of Being Prepared
Being prepared and having items put aside for an emergency situation can help you in the following ways:
- Less stress and worry
- Able to support your loved ones
- The ability to look after yourself until help arrives
- Save money by not needing to buy things
- Able to move in a hurry if needed
I’m sure there are more reasons. But you get the idea.
A little planning now. Can pay off big time later one.
You Will Never Know When You Will Need Your Emergency Kit
This might be one of the mental blocks a lot of people have when it comes to discussing emergency kits and having one.
You may never need to use your emergency kit.
Or you might need one next week.
The unpredictability of not knowing, and not having a solid date of when you need items for can lead people to a “I’ll get around to it” mentality.
You Can Start Small
I don’t think there is ever a black and white answer when it comes to “how do you know you have everything you’ll need in an emergency“
You won’t know.
But start today.
